Job Description

Profile You Need • Title: Accountant (Courier Industry) • Experience: 2–5 years in accounting, ideally with logistics, courier, freight forwarding, or import/export companies. • Education: B.Com / M.Com / CA Inter / MBA Finance (depending on your budget). • Skills: • Accounting software (Tally, QuickBooks, Zoho Books, SAP, or whichever system you use) • Knowledge of GST/VAT/customs duties (if applicable in your country) • Sales and purchase ledger maintenance • Reconciliation of accounts • Preparing P&L, Balance Sheets • Invoice generation and tracking • Handling foreign currency transactions (important for international courier) • Strong Excel skills • Reporting for management (daily/weekly/monthly) ⸻ Main Responsibilities • Recording sales invoices (international courier shipments, B2B/B2C) • Recording purchase invoices (freight charges, customs duties, third-party carrier bills) • Tracking customer payments and following up on overdue invoices • Tracking vendor payments (freight partners, airlines, customs brokers, etc.) • Preparing sales vs cost analysis reports • Handling bank reconciliations • Preparing tax filings (GST returns, VAT returns, or similar depending on your country) • Preparing MIS reports for management • Assisting auditors if needed • Managing petty cash and operational expenses • Handling currency conversions (USD, EUR, etc., if you deal with foreign invoices)
