Job Title: Accountant – Retail/FMCG Location: Chennai, Tamil Nadu Salary: ₹25,000 – ₹30,000 per month (based on experience) Experience: 2-5 years Qualification: B.Com / M.Com (mandatory) Industry: Retail / FMCG Joining: Immediate About the Role: We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team in the Retail/FMCG sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, proficiency in Tally and Excel, and experience in managing various financial operations within a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: Maintain accurate financial records using Tally, ensuring all transactions are recorded promptly and correctly. Generate daily, weekly, and monthly sales and management reports, providing insights into business performance. Prepare and file GST returns, ensuring compliance with current tax regulations. Oversee inventory records, manage stock levels, and reconcile discrepancies. Manage purchase and sales entries, ensuring timely payments and collections. Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data. Monitor and record petty cash transactions, ensuring proper documentation. Assist in maintaining attendance records and processing payroll. Work closely with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations. Desired Skills & Qualifications: Proficiency in Tally ERP 9 and Microsoft Excel (including VLOOKUP, filters, pivot tables, and report generation). Strong understanding of GST filing and related compliance. Experience in inventory management and stock book maintenance . Ability to generate and interpret sales and management reports . Knowledge of attendance systems and petty cash handling . Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset . Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
