Designation AI ML Lead Experience 3 to 5 Years Function AI & Data Science Enterprise Delivery Location Chennai Role Team Manager Job Description Purpose of the Job/ Role Were seeking a strategic AI/ML leader to take charge in advancing Bank & AI initiatives. As an AI/ML Lead, you will leverage your expertise in machine learning, data science, and banking to deliver high- impact solutions that drive the business forward. This role combines technical and functional responsibilities, guiding teams to innovate AI and ML solutions that create measurable business outcomes across multiple functions within Banking Vertical. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Strategic Development and Alignment: Act as a bridge between business and technology, aligning AI/ML projects with organizational objectives and translating complex technical capabilities into functional, business-oriented solutions. Lead the creation of an AI/ML roadmap that balances innovation with Bank's strategic goals and establishes AI as a key differentiator in the market. Techno-Functional Expertise: Work with cross-functional teams to integrate AI/ML models and solutions into business processes, ensuring high adoption and measurable impact across the organization. Drive the development and deployment of production-grade AI models, ensuring scalability, stability, and compliance with Bank& standards. Reusable Frameworks and Best Practices: Develop and promote a comprehensive library of reusable AI/ML assets, including models, feature stores, and templates that accelerate solution delivery across business units. Establish best practices and standards for AI/ML model lifecycle management, ensuring operational efficiency and consistency. AI Governance and Compliance: Lead the establishment of AI governance frameworks that ensure ethical, transparent, and compliant use of AI within the organization. Collaborate with risk, compliance, and security teams to ensure all AI/ML solutions meet regulatory standards and Banks data privacy requirements. Leadership and Collaboration: Mentor and develop a team of data scientists and ML engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, agility, and excellence. Serve as a key advisor on AI/ML initiatives across the organization, partnering with executive leadership to guide technology investments and identify opportunities for AI- driven business transformation. Act as the primary liaison between AI/ML and other business functions, ensuring seamless collaboration and aligning technology solutions with functional priorities. Innovation and Experimentation: Promote experimentation and pilot programs to test cutting-edge AI/ML techniques, adapting new technologies to address Banks unique challenges. Champion a culture of continuous learning and improvement, staying at the forefront of industry trends and emerging technologies. Working Relationships Reporting to VP Business Growth External Stakeholders Clients Skills/ Competencies Required Technical Skills Core Requirements: 3+ years of applied experience in AI and ML , with a minimum of 3 years leading cross-functional AI/ML projects that directly impact business outcomes. Advanced experience in Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Large Language Models (LLMs). Proven track record of building, evaluating, and deploying machine learning models in a production environment. Proficiency in Python and relevant ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) with advanced knowledge of the entire ML development lifecycle. Ability to translate highly technical concepts into functional, business- oriented language that influences decision-making at the executive level. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a capacity to work with ambiguity and prioritize initiatives with high business impact. Preferred: Extensive experience in Banking and a solid understanding of banking products, services, and regulatory requirements. Familiarity with cloud-based AI/ML platforms and their integration within financial ecosystems (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure). Experience with agile methodologies and project management tools, allowing for dynamic adaptation to evolving business needs. Soft Skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of managing relationships with senior stakeholders across technology and business domains. High degree of flexibility, autonomy, and judgment; able to work independently and meet tight deadlines while handling multiple priorities. Commitment to fostering an inclusive, diverse, and respectful work environment that aligns with Banks core values. • Bachelors Degree with 3 years of experience in data analytics, or Masters Degree with 3 years of experience in data analytics. • Hands-on experience in Python and SQL • Experience working with large and multiple datasets, data warehouses and ability to pull data using relevant programs and coding. • Strong background in Statistical Analysis. • Experience in working on Credit Cards, Retail Banking products Must be proficient in Python and SQL • Experience working banking domain, • High motivation, good work ethic, maturity and personal initiative.
