Job Title: Android Developer Audio Framework & HAL (SDV/Multimedia) Location: Bangalore Experience: 5+ Contract: 10-12 months Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced Android Developer with a strong background in Audio Framework and Audio HAL to work on next-generation Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) platforms. This role involves deep integration with the Android Multimedia stack, enabling robust, low-latency audio performance in embedded systems. Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain components of the Android Audio Framework , including Audio HAL and Multimedia Framework layers. Implement and customize HALs to interface with various audio peripherals and SoCs. Work with C/C++ for native audio processing and Java for integration within the Android system. Collaborate with hardware teams to bring up and validate audio features on embedded platforms. Utilize JNI for bridging between Java and native C/C++ layers. Debug and resolve audio issues across framework, HAL, and hardware layers. Contribute to SDV initiatives with focus on hypervisor-aware audio solutions and isolation. Use Git for version control and participate in peer code reviews and CI/CD practices. Required Skills: Solid experience in Android Audio Framework , Audio HAL , and Multimedia architecture . Proficiency in C, C++ , and Java with understanding of memory and performance optimization. Hands-on experience with JNI and Androids native system integration. Familiarity with Git and modern development workflows. Understanding of SDV concepts and working in hypervisor-based environments is a strong plus. Experience in debugging tools like adb, logcat, perf, or strace. Qualifications: Bachelors or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Embedded Systems, or related field. 4+ years of experience working on Android platform development, especially in audio subsystems. Nice to Have: Experience with Audio Policy Configuration , OpenSL ES , or AAudio . Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., QNX, Xen, Hypervisor) . Automotive or embedded Linux experience in an Android-based infotainment system.
