Job type: Contract Requires maximum 20 hours per week. Job Overview: We are looking for an Apache Druid Expert to evaluate and provide an alternative solution to replace RDS for handling large-scale data queries efficiently. The goal is to ensure faster queries for larger datasets and sub-second response times for API-based UI displays. This role will be focused on proof of concept (PoC) only, analyzing feasibility and providing recommendations. Key Responsibilities: Evaluate Apache Druid as a potential replacement for RDS. Design and implement a PoC solution to test query performance and scalability. Load necessary tables into Druid and optimize indexing, partitioning, and query execution. Ensure that Druid supports fast API responses for UI display. Compare performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness with RDS. Provide a detailed report on findings and recommendations for production use. Required Skills Qualifications: Strong expertise in Apache Druid architecture, ingestion, and query optimization. Experience with large-scale datasets and real-time analytics. Knowledge of SQL, distributed databases, and indexing strategies. Hands-on experience in query performance tuning and benchmarking. Familiarity with API integration for UI-based data retrieval. Experience in AWS, Kubernetes, or cloud-based Druid deployments is a plus. Preferred Qualifications: Experience migrating from RDS or other traditional databases to Apache Druid. Previous work in AdTech, real-time analytics, or large-scale event processing. Strong problem-solving skills with a PoC-driven mindset.
