Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled API Technical Lead to join our team. The API Technical Lead will be responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of API solutions for our clients. This role requires a deep understanding of API technologies, architecture, and best practices, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills. Responsibilities: 1. Lead the design and architecture of API solutions, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance. 2. Collaborate with clients, business partners, and cross-functional teams to gather requirements and define API specifications. 3. Develop and implement API strategies and roadmaps that align with clients' business goals and objectives. 4. Provide technical expertise and guidance to development teams throughout the API development lifecycle. 5. Conduct code reviews, identify areas for improvement, and mentor junior developers on API development best practices. 6. Collaborate with QA teams to ensure test coverage, performance, and security of the APIs. 7. Troubleshoot and resolve complex API and integration issues, working closely with stakeholders and development teams. 8. Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in API technologies, proactively suggesting innovative solutions to enhance our offerings. 9. Provide leadership and guidance on API governance processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices. 10. Assist in pre-sales activities, including solution architecture, technical presentations, and proposal development. Criteria 1. Minimum of 6 years of experience in software development and at least 1+ years in a technical leadership role. 2. Strong expertise in API technologies and standards such as REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, and OpenAPI. 3. Hands-on experience with API management platforms, such as Apigee, Mulesoft, or IBM API Connect. 4. Proficiency in programming languages like Java, JavaScript, or Python. 5. Good to have experience with cloud-native architectures and technologies, preferably AWS or Azure. 6. In-depth knowledge of API security best practices, including OAuth, JWT, and API key management. 7. Strong understanding of integration patterns, microservices architecture, and event-driven design. 8. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and resolve complex technical issues. 9. Effective communication and leadership skills to collaborate with various stakeholders and lead cross-functional teams. This blog will delve into the key responsibilities and roles that define this crucial position in an organization. APIGW lead is responsible for overseeing the APIGW implementation, APIGW solutions. Expertise in Microservices Expertise in configuring and customizing API proxy including policies, shared flow, hosted target, service-callouts. Well aware of API proxies, developer apps, products, security policies, Authentication/authorization and protection of API proxies. Expertise in utilizing APIGEE analytics and monitoring tools to track API performance, usage patterns, troubleshoot issues. Creating open API spec(swagger) ensuring clarity to both internal and external developers. Knowledge on APIGEE extensions to address business specific requirements. Knowledge on monitoring tools like Datadog, Dynatrace. Strong knowledge of various technologies, platforms, and architectural pattern. Must be well-versed in various technologies and platforms to design effective solutions that meet business needs. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to analyse complex business requirements and identify the most suitable technology solutions to address them. Strong communication and interpersonal between technical and business aspects, solution architects must effectively communicate with stakeholders, developers, and other IT professionals. Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams to collaborate with various teams to ensure the successful implementation of technology solutions. Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools about project management best practices and tools to help manage and coordinate projects effectively. A keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality and continuous improvement to ensure that the solutions they design meet performance, scalability, and security requirements while continuously seeking opportunities for improvement.
