Job Description

As an AR Analyst in medical billing, your primary responsibility is to manage and optimize the accounts receivable (AR) process to ensure timely and accurate payment collection. You'll analyze data, identify trends, resolve discrepancies, and communicate with insurance companies and patients to facilitate payment. Here's a general job description: Job Title: AR Analyst, Medical Billing Responsibilities: Accounts Receivable Management: Monitor and manage accounts receivable aging reports to identify delinquent accounts and prioritize follow-up actions. Denial Management: Analyze denied claims, identify root causes, and take corrective actions to resubmit claims and prevent future denials. Insurance Follow-Up: Contact insurance companies to resolve billing issues, claim status inquiries, and payment discrepancies. Patient Communication: Communicate with patients regarding billing inquiries, payment plans, and outstanding balances. Data Analysis and Reporting: Generate and analyze AR reports to identify trends, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide insights to management. Payment Posting: Ensure accurate and timely posting of payments from insurance companies and patients. Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts receivable balances and investigate discrepancies. Compliance: Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality. Process Improvement: Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of the AR process. Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, such as coding and registration, to resolve billing issues and improve workflow. Qualifications: Strong understanding of medical billing processes, including insurance claims, denials, and payments. Proficiency in using medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Detail-oriented and organized Ability to work independently and as part of a team Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy practices.
