Job Description

THE ROLE The incumbent will be instrumental in shaping and implementing the firms Knowledge Strategy to enhance lawyer efficiency and client service. The role will involve managing and organizing legal knowledge assets, ensuring seamless access to accurate, relevant, and up-to-date information. S/he will oversee the curation of legal precedents, know-how, and thought leadership while fostering a culture of knowledge sharing across the firm. Collaborating with partners, legal professionals, and business services teams, s/he will align KM initiatives with the firms strategic objectives. Additionally, s/he will act as a Relationship Manager, working closely with business unit heads, legal teams, and IT professionals to drive KM adoption and innovation. The ideal incumbent will be a proactive problem-solver with strong analytical skills and the ability to translate business needs into effective, scalable KM solutions. Span of Control: Manage and organize legal knowledge assets, ensuring seamless access to accurate, relevant, and up-to-date information. Qualification: Bachelors or Masters in Law Post Qualification Experience: 4+ years in Knowledge Management Designation: Assistant Manager / Manager Location: Noida Reporting to: Chief Knowledge Officer JOB RESPONSIBILITIES The incumbent will primarily be in charge of: - Knowledge Strategy & Governance o Develop and implement a firm-wide knowledge management strategy in alignment with firm objectives. o Establish and enforce governance policies for knowledge creation, review, maintenance, and archival to ensure accuracy, relevance, and accessibility. o Design policies, procedures, and standards to uphold knowledge quality and consistency across the firm. - Content Management & Curation o Oversee the categorization, organization, and maintenance of knowledge content, ensuring ease of access for lawyers and business teams. o Ensure the firm maintains a high-quality set of core precedentsautomated where possibleacross all practice groups, identifying resources to draft them as needed. o Identify sector, practice group, and client-specific hot topics for internal and external current awareness and thought leadership, collaborating with subject matter experts to develop relevant content. o Tracking legal, regulatory, and market developments relevant to the practice area and delivering tailored current awareness bulletins and alerts - Knowledge Culture & Training o Foster a culture of knowledge sharing across the firm, encouraging collaboration and effective communication. o Provide training and support to lawyers and staff on KM best practices and tools, promoting awareness and adoption. o Regularly review knowledge usage metrics and gather feedback to ensure lawyers needs are met and KM resources remain relevant. - Innovation & Continuous Improvement o Support lawyers in adopting AI, legal tech, and other innovative tools to improve efficiency and client service. o Stay updated on KM trends and legal industry best practices, implementing relevant improvements in the firm's KM strategy. o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance knowledge processes, drive efficiencies, and improve engagement. - Analytics & Performance Monitoring o Leverage analytics to assess the impact, engagement, and effectiveness of KM initiatives. o Identify areas for improvement in knowledge systems and content, working with key stakeholders to implement enhancements. CANDIDATE PROFILE EDUCATION AND PRIOR EXPERIENCE - 5+ years of experience in Knowledge Management, preferably in a Business Consulting Firm, Big 4, Law Firm, HR Consulting Firm - A Bachelors or Masters Degree in Law - Experience in Content Management - Familiarity with Legal Research Databases - Strong technical knowledge of multiple software applications used in a legal environment including MS Office 365, iManage or similar document systems - Proficiency in MS Office Suite, SharePoint or other KM tools / platforms - Knowledge of document management systems and AI tools for legal applications - Proven experience in managing multiple stakeholders across all organizational levels ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES (SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES) - Strong understanding of knowledge management principles within a law firm environment. - Experience in legal content curation, knowledge governance, and precedent management. - A passion for continuous learning and improvement, with a demonstrated ability to regularly evaluate knowledge management tools, and processes, using feedback and industry best practices to drive enhancements. - Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to drive KM adoption. - Ability to work collaboratively with lawyers, business services teams, and leadership. - Proactive mindset with a focus on innovation, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
