Job Title: Assistant Manager - Pharmaceutical Wholesale Operations Location: Kolkata, West Bengal Company: GSA Surgical and Medicines Pvt Ltd Job Type: Full-Time Salary: Competitive (Based on Experience) Experience Required: Minimum 1+ year in wholesale and retail medicine distribution About Us: GSA Surgical and Medicines Pvt Ltd is a leading wholesale medicine distributor in Kolkata, supplying pharmaceuticals to retail pharmacies, hospitals, and corporate clients . We are expanding our operations and looking for an experienced Assistant General Manager (AGM) to oversee our wholesale operations, warehouse management, corporate deals, and government tenders . Key Responsibilities: 1. Wholesale Operations Management: Oversee and manage the entire wholesale distribution of medicines and surgical supplies. Ensure efficient supply chain and timely deliveries to retail pharmacies and bulk buyers. Work closely with procurement, sales, and logistics teams to optimize stock management. Ensure regulatory compliance for medicine storage, packaging, and transportation. Supervise billing, inventory control, and pricing strategies to maximize profitability. 2. Warehouse & Logistics Management: Plan, set up, and manage a large-scale pharmaceutical warehouse . Ensure smooth inbound and outbound logistics for medicine distribution. Implement efficient stock rotation techniques (FIFO & FEFO) to avoid medicine expiration. Maintain a strict temperature-controlled environment for medicine storage. Optimize warehouse operations by implementing automation and best practices . 3. Government Tenders & Liaison Work: Identify and apply for government tenders for medicine supply. Handle documentation, bidding, and compliance for government contracts . Build relationships with government authorities and regulatory bodies . Ensure all licenses, GST filings, and legal paperwork are up to date. 4. Corporate & Institutional Sales: Approach and negotiate deals with corporate clients , hospitals, and pharmacy chains. Develop and broker long-term contracts with major buyers. Work on pricing strategies and bulk order discounts to attract institutional clients. Manage key corporate accounts and ensure smooth order fulfillment. 5. Compliance & Documentation: Ensure adherence to drug regulations, warehouse standards, and safety guidelines . Maintain accurate records for sales, tenders, and compliance reports . Coordinate with auditors and regulatory officials during inspections. Required Qualifications & Skills: Minimum 5 years of experience in medicine distribution (wholesale & retail). Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical warehouse operations & inventory management. Experience in government tender applications & compliance . Ability to negotiate and broker high-value corporate deals . Strong understanding of logistics, procurement, and supply chain management . Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP software, and inventory tracking tools . Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills . Must be familiar with pharmaceutical licensing, documentation, and regulatory requirements .
