Role & responsibilities Job Title: Assistant Manager Exports (Aroma Chemicals) Department: International Sales & Marketing Location: Pune/ Mumbai Reporting To: Manager – Exports / Head – International Business Experience Required: 5–8 years in export sales/marketing of aroma or specialty chemicals Job Purpose: To support and grow the international business of aroma chemicals by managing global customer accounts, exploring new markets, ensuring timely documentation, and facilitating smooth export operations. Key Responsibilities: Export Sales & Business Development: Manage and grow sales in assigned international territories (Europe, USA, Asia, LATAM, etc.). Identify and develop new customers/distributors in target countries. Handle inquiries, prepare quotations, negotiate prices and commercial terms. Customer Relationship Management: Act as the primary point of contact for overseas clients. Ensure prompt response to customer requirements, complaints, and queries. Export Documentation & Compliance: Coordinate with export documentation teams for shipping documents like invoice, packing list, COO, BL, MSDS, COA, etc. Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, including REACH, IFRA, and customs laws. Order Execution & Coordination: Liaise with production, dispatch, QA/QC, and logistics teams to ensure timely order processing and shipment. Track shipments and proactively communicate with customers. Market Research & Strategy: Monitor global market trends, competitor activity, pricing, and customer preferences. Provide inputs for market strategy, pricing decisions, and product positioning. Payments & Commercial Terms: Follow up on payment collections, credit terms, and resolve financial discrepancies with customers or internal teams. Support Letter of Credit (LC), advance payment, and open credit transactions. Key Requirements: Education: B.Sc./B.Tech/M.Sc. in Chemistry or related field + MBA in International Business (preferred) Experience: 5–8 years in export sales/marketing of aroma, fragrance, or specialty chemicals Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills with global clientele Knowledge of international trade practices, export documentation, and INCOTERMS Familiarity with REACH, IFRA, Kosher, Halal certifications Proficiency in MS Office, CRM, and ERP systems Willingness to travel abroad as required Preferred Industry Background: Aroma chemicals, essential oils, perfumery ingredients, F&F industry, specialty/fine chemicals, or chemical exporters
