Critical Patient Care : Provide expert medical care to critically ill pediatric patients in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Postoperative Care : Manage postoperative pediatric patients, coordinating with surgical teams for optimal recovery and addressing complications. Multidisciplinary Collaboration : Collaborate with pediatricians, surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive and specialized care for pediatric patients. Monitoring and Assessment : Monitor and assess the condition of critically ill pediatric patients, adjusting treatment plans as needed. Ventilator Management : Manage mechanical ventilation for pediatric patients requiring respiratory support. Invasive Procedures : Perform or assist with invasive procedures such as central line placements, intubation, and arterial catheterizations. Medication Management : Prescribe and manage medications for pediatric patients, ensuring appropriate dosages and monitoring for potential side effects. Family Communication : Communicate with parents and guardians, providing updates on patient status, prognosis, and care plans. Documentation : Maintain accurate and up - to - date medical records, documenting patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes. Quality Improvement : Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the PICU, ensuring adherence to best practices and standards. Emergency Response : Respond to pediatric emergencies within the PICU, providing immediate and effective medical care.
