CNC/VMC Machine Setup: Set up CNC and VMC machines, including installing tools, fixtures, and other required equipment. Ensure all machine components are calibrated and aligned to meet specified tolerances. Perform pre-production machine checks and routine maintenance to ensure machines run smoothly. Programming: Create, modify, and optimize CNC and VMC machine programs (including G-codes and M-codes) based on engineering drawings and specifications. Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and 3D models to generate accurate machine programs. Troubleshoot and optimize existing programs for efficiency, cycle time, and part quality. Tool and Material Management: Select appropriate tooling for the specific machining task based on part design and material type. Monitor tool wear and replace tools as needed to maintain part quality. Ensure correct material loading and verify correct part orientation on the machine. Quality Control and Inspection: Monitor machine operations during the manufacturing process to ensure parts meet dimensional and quality specifications. Perform in-process inspections using measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges) to verify part accuracy. Collaborate with quality control teams to resolve any quality issues and make necessary adjustments to programs or setups. Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: Diagnose and resolve any operational or programming issues that arise during the machining process. Adjust machine parameters or reprogram parts to maintain production efficiency and product quality. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of machine setup, programs, and production runs. Report machine downtime, maintenance issues, and any other production-related discrepancies. Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all company safety policies and standards to ensure a safe working environment. Ensure all machine operations comply with safety regulations and company quality standards. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with engineers, designers, and production staff to ensure smooth production flow. Communicate any issues with production, equipment, or materials to the relevant teams promptly. Required Skills and Qualifications:Proven experience as a CNC/VMC Setter and Programmer. Proficiency in CNC programming, including G-code and M-code. Strong knowledge of machining operations, tool management, and setup procedures. Experience with CAD/CAM software for programming (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, or similar software). Strong understanding of technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications. Familiarity with various CNC/VMC machines (Haas, Siemens, FANUC, etc.). Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain high-quality standards. Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
