Azure ETL Tester

Job Description

Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced Azure ETL Tester to validate and verify data pipelines, transformation logic, and data quality across our Azure-based data platform. The ideal candidate will have strong ETL testing skills, deep knowledge of SQL, and hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) , Synapse Analytics , and related services. Key Responsibilities: Design and execute test plans for ETL workflows built on Azure Data Platform. Validate data movement, transformation logic, and data loading across systems. Write and execute complex SQL queries for data validation, reconciliation, and defect analysis. Test data pipelines built using Azure Data Factory , Azure Synapse , and Databricks . Identify, report, and track data quality and integrity issues. Collaborate with developers and data engineers to resolve defects and improve data accuracy. Document test cases, test data requirements, test results, and maintain traceability. Support performance and regression testing of ETL jobs. Required Skills: 4–7 years of experience in ETL testing , data validation, and data warehouse projects. Strong SQL skills – ability to write complex joins, aggregations, and data comparison queries. Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) , Azure Synapse Analytics , and/or Azure Databricks . Good understanding of ETL processes, source-to-target mappings, and data profiling. Experience in defect tracking and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail, HP ALM). Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Good communication and documentation skills. Nice to Have: Experience with Python or PowerShell for automation. Familiarity with data quality tools like Great Expectations or Informatica DQ .
