Backend Lead / Architect Cloud Architect Join Our Cutting-Edge AI Team! Experience: 8-12 Location: Pune Job Type: Full-time(Hybrid) Position Overview We are looking for a highly skilled Backend Lead / Architect to design, develop, and maintain scalable, reliable, and high-performance backend solutions for our multi-tenant SaaS products . This role requires expertise in distributed systems, microservices, and cloud architectures , with a proven ability to handle production issues at scale . You will collaborate closely with the AI Lead and Frontend Lead to ensure seamless integration of backend services, AI/ML pipelines, and front-end functionalities delivering a robust, secure, and feature-rich experience to our customers . Key Responsibilities: System Architecture Design Define and implement the overall backend architecture for multi-tenant SaaS applications , ensuring scalability, high availability, security, and compliance . Design microservices, RESTful APIs, GraphQL APIs, and WebSockets in alignment with front-end and AI requirements. Establish design patterns and best practices for code modularity, performance optimization, and scalability. Scalability Performance Identify performance bottlenecks and optimize strategies ( caching, load balancing, message queues , etc.). Implement and maintain monitoring/observability solutions (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, ELK Stack) for real-time insights and rapid incident response. Establish performance baselines, conduct stress tests , and implement disaster recovery strategies . Production Stability Issue Resolution Proactively monitor production environments , anticipating potential failures and bottlenecks . Triage, diagnose, and resolve production incidents with minimal downtime , using robust logging, tracing, and on-call rotation strategies . Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and post-mortems, implementing preventative measures . Collaboration Cross-Functional Coordination Work closely with the AI team to integrate MLOps pipelines , ensuring smooth data flow and secure model deployment . Collaborate with the Frontend team to provide well-defined API contracts , enabling efficient UI/UX development . Partner with DevOps to define CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) practices. Team Leadership Mentorship Lead and mentor a team of backend developers, setting clear goals and providing technical guidance . Perform code reviews to ensure high code quality, maintainability, and adherence to best practices . Foster a culture of continuous learning , encouraging the adoption of new technologies, tools, and methodologies . Security Compliance Implement secure coding practices and follow industry standards ( OWASP Top 10 ). Ensure data privacy and regulatory compliance (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR ). Oversee authentication/authorization frameworks (OAuth, JWT) and data encryption at rest and in transit (SSL/TLS, AES encryption) . Documentation Maintain comprehensive technical documentation , including architecture diagrams, APIs, database schemas, and operational runbooks . Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions and handovers for seamless onboarding of new team members. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field . Experience: 8+ years of backend or full-stack development experience , with at least 3 years in a technical lead or architect role . Proven experience in leading delivering large-scale distributed systems in production . Technical Expertise: Languages Frameworks: Proficiency in Python and frameworks such as Django, FastAPI . Database Systems: Strong knowledge of SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra) , including data modeling query optimization . Microservices Architecture: Hands-on experience with microservices, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and service mesh architectures . Cloud Platforms: Experience with AWS, Azure , and Google Cloud for deployment, scaling, and monitoring. CI/CD DevOps: Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation), and automated testing . Monitoring Observability: Proficiency with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Loki for real-time monitoring and log analysis. Soft Skills: Leadership: Ability to lead teams, manage conflicts, and drive backend architecture vision . Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills to coordinate with cross-functional teams (AI, Frontend, QA, Product). Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset for troubleshooting complex issues in high-pressure environments. Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work seamlessly across multiple teams and stakeholders . Preferred Qualifications: AI/ML Integration: Experience with MLOps practices for model deployment monitoring . Domain Knowledge: Experience working in Healthcare, FinTech, or other highly regulated industries (HIPAA, GDPR compliance). Cloud Certifications: AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud certifications .
