Job Title: Senior Engineer - Data Protection (Veritas NetBackup) Location: Hyderabad Experience: 8+ Years Shift: Rotational Shifts (must be comfortable with shift work) Availability: Immediate joiners or candidates who can join ASAP Key Qualifications: Experience: 8+ years of hands-on experience in Veritas NetBackup (Windows and Linux) Global Support Experience: Must have excellent communication skills and experience supporting clients globally Shift Flexibility: Must be comfortable with rotational shifts to support global operations Technical Skills: Extensive experience in backup and recovery processes, troubleshooting, and providing solutions using Veritas NetBackup. Role Overview: The Senior Data Protection Engineer will specialize in Veritas NetBackup to design, implement, and maintain data protection solutions that ensure the security and availability of critical enterprise data. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with IT teams to ensure robust data protection strategies. Key Responsibilities: Designing and Implementing Solutions: Develop and deploy data protection strategies using Veritas NetBackup to meet organizational requirements, ensuring the reliability and availability of critical business data. System Management: Oversee the backup and recovery operations, maintaining system performance and ensuring data integrity across all environments (Windows & Linux). Cyber Resilience: Implement proactive measures to protect against ransomware and other cyber threats. Utilize features such as immutability and anomaly detection within Veritas NetBackup for added data protection. Collaboration: Work closely with internal IT teams to integrate data protection solutions with the existing infrastructure and business applications, ensuring seamless performance. Troubleshooting and Support: Diagnose and resolve complex issues related to backup, recovery, and data protection processes to ensure minimal downtime and maximum data availability. Documentation and Training: Create detailed and clear documentation for backup processes, troubleshooting guides, and best practices. Provide training and mentorship to junior team members and stakeholders. Skills & Requirements: In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with Veritas NetBackup (Windows & Linux environments). Proven experience in data protection strategies , backup/recovery, and disaster recovery planning. Strong knowledge of cyber resilience concepts, including data protection from ransomware and other cyber threats. Excellent communication skills , with the ability to provide global support and communicate effectively with internal teams and clients. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex backup and recovery issues efficiently. Must be flexible to work in rotational shifts to support global operations.
