BIM Engineer - MEP

Job Description

As a BIM Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the model development and maintenance of accurate and coordinated Building Information Models (BIM) for our projects. You will collaborate closely with senior BIM Engineer, Coordinator, BIM Manager, and other project teams to ensure the successful delivery of BIM deliverables. The ideal candidate possesses experience in creating 3D models using BIM software such as Revit, AutoCAD, or ArchiCAD. Attention to detail, technical proficiency, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment are important. They should have strong problem-solving skills and be able to interpret design documents and specifications accurately. Familiarity with BIM standards and a willingness to learn and adapt to new software and technologies is desirable. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop accurate and detailed 3D BIM models for mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical and firefighting systems, using Revit and other relevant software. Generate mechanical shop drawings, layouts, and schematics from the BIM models. Ensure compliance with project specifications, local codes, and international standards. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, structural, and electrical engineers, to identify and resolve design clashes and conflicts. Conduct clash detection using software like Navisworks and ensure resolution of identified issues. Participate in coordination meetings to facilitate the integration of mechanical systems with other disciplines. Prepare and maintain accurate As-Built BIM models and detailed documentation for project handover. Ensure that all deliverables are completed on time and meet quality standards. Adhere to local authority requirements and international standards such as ASHRAE, NFPA, and applicable GCC regulations. Maintain high-quality BIM documentation for approval and compliance. KEY QUALIFICATION: Diploma or Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field. Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical BIM modeling. Proven track record of working with design consulting firms in the Middle East. Proficiency in BIM software such as Revit and Navisworks. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, piping electrical, and firefighting. Excellent teamwork and communication skills. Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and accuracy. Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities effectively.
