Job Description

As a Buddy Trainer at Salad Days, you will play a pivotal role in our kitchen operations and training programs. In addition to maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene, and operational efficiency, you will be responsible for training new recruits, ensuring recipe adherence, and minimizing wastage. Your role is crucial in managing the end-to-end process from food preparation to ensuring timely delivery to our customers, as well as developing and mentoring team members. Key Responsibilities Gain in-depth knowledge of Salad Days' menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods. Become proficient in the use and maintenance of kitchen equipment. Participate in regular sanitization tasks to maintain a spotless kitchen. Properly handle ingredients and follow planogram guidelines for ingredient storage and organization. Plan and manage the quantity and schedule of mise-en-place activities to ensure timely preparation. Efficiently handle peak times while adhering to prescribed KPT to maintain service standards. Manage daily inventory tasks, including reporting stock-in-hand accurately. Train new recruits and existing team members on all operational processes, ensuring they are well-versed in Salad Days' standards and procedures. Monitor and minimize wastage in the kitchen, implementing best practices for efficient use of ingredients. Ensure that all recipes are followed precisely, maintaining consistency and quality in every dish. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Culinary education is a plus but not required. Minimum of 15 months of experience in a kitchen or food service environment, including hands-on experience with food preparation, cooking, inventory management, packaging, dispatching, and training. Advanced understanding of kitchen operations and food preparation techniques. Strong organizational skills for planning and managing mise-en-place activities. Proficiency in inventory management, including physical counts and accurate reporting. Ability to train and mentor new recruits and team members. Ability to monitor and minimize wastage effectively. Demonstrated leadership abilities to guide, motivate, and manage a team effectively.
