Job Description

Role & responsibilities Global Standards Compliance: Ensure that the products, services, or processes align with international standards (e.g., ISO, ASTM, EU regulations, etc.). Keep updated with the global regulatory requirements in the industry and ensure the organization adheres to them. Testing and Validation: Develop and execute test plans for products and services to ensure they meet quality specifications. Perform functional, performance, and security testing, among others, based on the product. Use automated testing tools and manual testing techniques to check for defects and issues. International Collaboration: Work with international teams across different time zones to ensure quality standards are met. Communicate and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and engineers from various countries. Cultural Sensitivity and Market Differences: Be mindful of regional differences in market expectations and customer needs. Test products for regional language variations, cultural appropriateness, and local regulations (e.g., specific certifications or packaging standards). Continuous Improvement and Feedback Loop: Identify process inefficiencies and suggest improvements to enhance quality. Provide actionable insights to teams based on test results to refine products. Track defect trends and work with the team to reduce recurring issues. Documentation and Reporting: Create comprehensive reports documenting test plans, test cases, defects, and resolutions. Maintain a record of quality metrics, helping international teams assess overall product performance. Risk Management: Identify potential risks related to product quality and collaborate with stakeholders to mitigate them. Help evaluate the impact of issues and determine solutions on an international scale (e.g., how product failures may affect multiple countries). Client and Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with international clients or customers to understand their quality requirements. Provide timely feedback and updates to international clients regarding quality tests and results. Training and Knowledge Sharing: Provide training to teams on quality standards and best practices. Share knowledge and foster continuous learning about international trends and technologies in quality assurance. Tool and Technology Adaptation: Utilize international-quality tools (e.g., Jira, Selenium, LoadRunner) for effective testing and management of quality processes. Stay up-to-date with the latest QA tools and technologies used globally. Preferred candidate profile Work Experience: Experience Level: 2-5 years of relevant QA experience, particularly in software testing or quality assurance in international or multi-regional projects. Industry Experience: Prior experience in international companies, handling global teams, or testing products/services with international users in mind is highly valued. Test Process Management: Proven experience in managing test cases, defect tracking, and reporting. Hands-on experience with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) , particularly in Agile or Scrum environments, is a plus. 3. Technical Skills: Manual Testing Expertise: Strong experience in writing and executing manual test cases, functional testing, regression testing, UAT (User Acceptance Testing), etc. Ability to identify edge cases and explore applications for defects. Automated Testing Tools: Experience with automation tools like Selenium, Appium, JUnit, TestNG, or Cucumber . Performance Testing: Familiarity with tools like JMeter or LoadRunner to conduct load and performance testing. API Testing: Experience in testing RESTful APIs using tools like Postman , SoapUI , or Rest Assured . Bug Tracking and Test Management Tools: Proficiency in tools like Jira, TestRail, Bugzilla, or Quality Center to report and track issues. Version Control Systems: Familiarity with Git , SVN , or similar version control tools to track changes and versions. Programming and Scripting: Basic knowledge of Python, Java, JavaScript, or SQL to write scripts for test automation, data validation, or database testing. 4. Soft Skills: Strong Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with global teams, both written and verbally, in a multi-cultural environment. Fluency in English (written and spoken) is often required, while knowledge of additional languages can be a plus. Attention to Detail: Ability to spot minute defects and inconsistencies and a sharp focus on delivering high-quality results. Teamwork & Collaboration: Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., developers, product managers, business analysts) across different countries and time zones. Problem-Solving Ability: Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly understand complex issues and provide solutions. Adaptability: Open to working in different time zones, flexible with various tools and techniques, and able to adapt to rapidly changing project requirements or environments. 5. Domain Knowledge: Understanding of Industry Regulations & Standards: Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and quality standards, especially in regulated industries such as finance, healthcare, or telecommunications (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, ISO). Cross-Cultural Awareness: Sensitivity to cultural differences and the ability to adapt testing and communication practices based on the needs of different regions. 6. Analytical and Testing Skills: Test Case Design: Ability to design comprehensive test plans and test cases based on business requirements and functional specifications. Defect Management: Strong ability to log, track, and manage defects and collaborate with development teams to resolve them. Regression Testing Expertise: Hands-on experience in performing regression testing to ensure that new changes dont negatively impact existing functionalities. Risk Management: Understanding of how to prioritize testing based on product risks, market needs, and business priorities. 7. Knowledge of Agile/DevOps: Agile Methodologies: Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments with knowledge of Agile principles, such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and iterative development. DevOps Knowledge: Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes) for continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and automated testing. 8. Global Project Experience: Experience in managing or being part of projects involving cross-border or multi-regional teams. Ability to deal with the complexities of time zone differences, cross-cultural communication, and global regulatory compliance in testing. 9. Risk Awareness and Mitigation: skills Understanding the impact of defects in a global context and how critical it is to resolve issues quickly to avoid business disruptions in different regions. 10. Tools and Technology Adaptability: Proficiency in using a wide range of tools and technologies (both new and established), with the ability to quickly adapt to new platforms, technologies, or testing tools as they arise globally.
