Job Description

Job Description: We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Business Development Engineer to join our team. This individual will be responsible for driving business development activities, specifically in the area of estimation and pre-tendering for Transmission and Distribution (T&D) projects. The ideal candidate should possess hands-on experience in the T&D sector, with a deep understanding of estimation processes, pre-tendering activities, and related project specifications. Experience in solar project bidding will be considered an additional advantage. Key Responsibilities: 1. Business Development & Proposal Preparation: - Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and stakeholders to promote company offerings in T&D projects. - Assist in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities in the T&D sector. - Prepare detailed proposals, project bids, and technical documentation for upcoming tenders, ensuring alignment with client requirements. - Review tenders, contracts, and specifications to ensure clarity and completeness. - Provide estimations and cost analysis for the pre-tendering phase. 2. Estimations & Pre-Tendering: - Analyze technical drawings, documents, and project specifications to prepare accurate cost estimations. - Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, procurement, etc.) to ensure precise estimations and resource planning for tender submission. - Develop detailed project schedules and timelines, factoring in procurement, execution, and other key project aspects. - Calculate project costs, including material, labor, and overheads, while maintaining cost-effectiveness and profitability. 3. Solar Project Bidding (if applicable): - Assist in the preparation and submission of solar energy-related bids, with a focus on the pre-tendering process. - Analyze solar project requirements, conduct site assessments, and incorporate technical and commercial data into bids. - Engage with stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate submission of solar project bids. 4. Market Research & Strategy: - Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging technologies related to T&D and solar energy sectors. - Gather market intelligence to identify new opportunities, staying updated with client needs and competitor offerings. Collaborate with senior management to develop strategic business growth plans based on market trends and company goals. 5. Client Interaction & Negotiation: - Conduct technical discussions with clients, clarifying requirements and providing expert advice on project feasibility and cost estimations. - Participate in negotiation meetings, presenting technical solutions, timelines, and cost-effective approaches. - Assist clients in finalizing technical and commercial terms to secure project contracts. Key Skills & Qualifications: - Bachelors degree in Engineering (Electrical, ) or a related field. - 5-10 years of experience in business development, estimation, and pre-tendering processes in T&D projects. - In-depth knowledge of the Transmission and Distribution (T&D) sector, including project design, implementation, and delivery. - Experience in preparing estimates, cost breakdowns, and resource allocation for T&D projects. - Strong understanding of solar energy project bidding and technical requirements (preferred). - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, and estimation software. - Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with clients and cross-functional teams. Problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Desired Additional Qualifications: - Knowledge of renewable energy projects, specifically solar energy. - Familiarity with project management tools and techniques. - Experience working in the energy or infrastructure industry.
