Job Description

Role: To provide visionary leadership, set strategic direction, and ensure sustained growth and profitability. The COO will oversee all aspects of the organization, including strategy, operations, financial management, and stakeholder engagement, driving innovation and operational excellence to meet current and future organizational goals. Key Responsibilities: Define and execute the organization's long-term vision, mission, and strategic roadmap to drive sustainable growth and industry leadership. Lead transformational initiatives that position the company as a benchmark in the Auto Tier-1 industry. Oversee the company's financial health by managing P&L, driving revenue growth, controlling costs, and maximizing EBITDA, RONA, and ROCE. Develop strategies to optimize capital allocation and ensure long-term shareholder value. Drive world-class manufacturing excellence by implementing Lean Manufacturing Systems, including TPM, TQM, Kaizen, 5S, and SMED, to improve productivity and operational efficiency. Establish robust systems for demand forecasting, capacity planning, and production scheduling to achieve On-time In-Full (OTIF) delivery targets. Lead initiatives to modernize manufacturing layouts and facilities, integrating advanced technologies and automation to enhance efficiency and scalability. Ensure the seamless integration of supply chain, engineering, and quality functions to deliver First Time Right products and reduce lead times. Create a data-driven operational culture by implementing KPIs for quality, cost, delivery, safety, and morale (PQCDSM), ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Strengthen the company’s engineering capabilities to ensure efficient RFQ handling, precise cost estimations, and high conversion rates. Minimize waste, internal rejections, and customer complaints (PPM) by enforcing stringent quality control measures and continuous improvement processes. Develop strategies for logistics optimization, including milk runs, freight cost management, and inventory control, to reduce operational costs. Drive energy and resource optimization to enhance sustainability and operational efficiency. Champion the adoption of cutting-edge technologies in manufacturing, engineering, and product development to stay ahead of industry trends. Lead innovation initiatives for new product development and process improvements, aligning with customer needs and market opportunities. Build and nurture a high-performing leadership team, ensuring talent acquisition, capability development, and succession planning. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability to drive organizational excellence. Enhance customer satisfaction by ensuring high-quality product delivery and proactively addressing client requirements. Build long-term relationships with OEM customers and key stakeholders to strengthen the company’s market position. Ensure adherence to all regulatory, safety, and compliance standards, creating a safe and sustainable working environment. Monitor and enforce SOPs for safety, quality, and operational excellence. Lead cost reduction initiatives across the supply chain, sourcing, and manufacturing operations to enhance profitability. Drive sustainable practices in energy consumption, waste management, and resource utilization. Required Candidate Profile: Educational Background: Mechanical Engineering degree from a reputed institute is preferred. An MBA or Master’s degree in Operations, Industrial Engineering, or Manufacturing is highly desirable. Experience: 25+ years of experience, with a significant portion in leadership roles in the auto Tier-1 industry. Proven expertise in Casting, Machining, Cold Forging, Heat Treatment, and Surface Treatment. Key Skills: Deep understanding of manufacturing and operational best practices, including Kaizen, SMED, TPM, and TQM. Strong strategic and financial acumen with experience aligning operations to organizational goals. Exceptional stakeholder management, negotiation, and strategic decision-making abilities.
