Job Title: Head of Commercial Location: Hospet, Karnataka Experience: 20-25 Years Industry Preference: Steel Industry Salary: As per Market Standards Job Summary: The Head of Commercial will be responsible for leading and managing the commercial function of Hospet Steels Limited, ensuring strategic procurement, vendor management, cost optimization, and overall supply chain efficiency. The role requires an experienced leader with a strong background in purchasing, materials management, and commercial negotiations within the steel industry. Key Responsibilities: Oversee and manage the entire procurement and commercial operations of the company. Develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies to optimize costs and ensure uninterrupted supply of raw materials and other essentials. Lead contract negotiations, vendor development, and supplier relationship management. Ensure procurement processes align with industry best practices, cost efficiency, and compliance standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, finance, and logistics to streamline supply chain operations. Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor strategies, and pricing fluctuations in raw materials. Drive cost-saving initiatives while maintaining quality and reliability in supply chain management. Develop and implement policies and procedures for commercial operations to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Lead a team of commercial professionals, fostering a culture of performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and company policies in all procurement and commercial activities. Key Requirements: Educational Qualification: B.E./B.Tech from NIT, with an MBA in Materials Management. Industry Experience: Steel industry experience is mandatory. Preference will be given to candidates from Lloyd Steel, JSW Dolvi, AMNL, JSPL, or similar organizations. Experience: 20-25 years of experience in purchasing and commercial leadership roles, with a track record of heading a department. Skills & Competencies: Strong negotiation and contract management skills. In-depth knowledge of procurement strategies and vendor management in the steel industry. Ability to lead and mentor a high-performing team. Proficiency in ERP systems and data analytics for commercial operations. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Preferred Attributes: Experience in managing large-scale procurement in a steel manufacturing environment. Exposure to global sourcing strategies and cost-effective procurement methodologies. Ability to drive efficiency and cost optimization while maintaining operational excellence. Reporting to: COO
