As a Commodity Buyer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of commodities and raw materials required for our organization's production or operations. You will be responsible for identifying reliable suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing the procurement process to meet our quality, cost, and delivery objectives. Key Responsibilities : Supplier Sourcing and Selection : Identify and evaluate potential suppliers for commodities and raw materials. Assess supplier capabilities, quality standards, and financial stability. Build and maintain a network of trusted suppliers. Negotiation and Contracting : Negotiate favorable terms and conditions with suppliers, including price, delivery schedules, and payment terms. Draft and manage contracts and agreements with selected suppliers. Ensure compliance with legal and ethical procurement standards. Cost Management : Monitor commodity markets and price trends to make informed purchasing decisions. Implement cost-saving strategies and initiatives. Continuously seek opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement. Quality Assurance : Collaborate with quality control and production teams to ensure that purchased commodities meet quality and safety standards. Address and resolve any quality issues with suppliers. Inventory Management : Maintain appropriate inventory levels to meet production and operational requirements. Minimize excess and obsolete inventory through effective planning and communication with suppliers. Supplier Relationship Management : Cultivate positive and productive relationships with suppliers. Address any supplier performance issues and work toward mutually beneficial solutions.
