Job Description

Role & responsibilities Cost Monitoring & Control: Oversee and manage the cost control processes for all renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, and other renewable technologies. Develop, implement, and maintain cost control policies and procedures to ensure effective cost management across the project lifecycle. Monitor and track project expenses, ensuring that costs are within budget and that variances are appropriately addressed. Cost Reporting & Analysis: Provide regular cost reports and updates to senior management, highlighting any cost overruns, risks, and areas of concern. Conduct detailed cost analysis, including cost breakdowns, forecasting, and scenario analysis to identify potential savings and efficiencies. Present cost reports to project teams, ensuring transparency and accountability in project spending. Budget Development & Management: Collaborate with project managers and department heads to prepare accurate project budgets, ensuring all financial elements are considered, including capital and operational costs. Establish and maintain cost controls during project execution, ensuring that the budget is adhered to and changes are managed effectively. Risk Management: Identify and assess potential cost risks in projects, working with stakeholders to develop mitigation strategies. Support risk management activities by ensuring that cost-related risks are properly documented and tracked. Vendor & Contract Management: Assist in evaluating supplier and contractor quotes, ensuring that costs are competitive and within budget parameters. Track and verify vendor invoices to ensure compliance with contracts and cost projections. Continuous Improvement: Implement best practices and innovative approaches to cost management and control. Recommend improvements to processes, tools, and systems to enhance cost efficiency and forecasting accuracy. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with procurement, engineering, operations, and finance teams to ensure effective communication and coordination in cost-related activities. Provide training and support to project managers and team members regarding cost control procedures and tools. Preferred candidate profile 10+ years of proven in cost control, financial analysis, or project management, ideally in the renewable energy or energy sector. Strong knowledge of renewable energy technologies, project management processes, and financial management within this sector. skill set required Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
