Job Description

As a MS SQL Database Administrator (DBA), you will be responsible for overseeing the administration, maintenance, and optimization of the organization's database systems. This role is crucial in ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of databases that support critical business applications and services. Responsibilities: Design and maintain proper indexing strategies to speed up data retrieval, including both clustered and non-clustered indexes. Design, implement, and maintain database structures (tables, stored procedures, views) within SQL Server or other relational databases. Optimize SQL queries to ensure efficient execution, minimize resource consumption, and improve response times, using EXPLAIN plans, indexes, and appropriate query writing techniques. Utilize database caching techniques, such as in-memory databases or Redis, to improve performance for frequently accessed data. Write and optimize stored procedures, functions, and triggers to encapsulate business logic and automate database operations. Write complex and optimized SQL queries for data retrieval, reporting, and transformation, ensuring they scale efficiently for large data volumes. Additional Skills and Knowledge Technical Proficiency : Strong understanding of system architecture, networking, and database management. Project Management : Ability to manage infrastructure projects effectively, including scheduling and resource allocation. Communication : Clear and effective communication with project managers, development teams, and other stakeholders. Desired Qualifications Candidates should possess a BE/BTech, MCA, MSc IT They should have a minimum of 5 years of overall experience , with at least two software application development projects. SQL - PostgreSQL/ MySQL / MS SQL Server, etc. No-SQL - Cassandra/ MongoDB, and Offline databases, such as SQLite/ CouchDB, etc Working experience in E governance projects will be preferable.
