Job Description

The Dean of Chitkara Law School at Chitkara University will provide strategic, academic, and administrative leadership to advance the mission of the school. This role involves enhancing academic quality, compliance with Bar Council of India (BCI) and UGC norms, faculty development, research excellence, and fostering strong industry and legal community partnerships. Academic Leadership Lead curriculum design, review, and implementation aligned with BCI guidelines and global best practices. Promote interdisciplinary, experiential, and research-led legal education. Oversee academic audits, quality assurance, and accreditation efforts. Administration & Compliance Ensure full compliance with statutory and regulatory bodies (BCI, UGC, NAAC, etc.). Manage budgets, resource planning, timetables, and faculty recruitment. Develop and enforce academic policies and procedures. Faculty & Student Development Recruit, mentor, and evaluate a high-quality team of legal educators and researchers. Promote faculty development programs, research, and scholarly publications. Enhance student engagement, internships, moot courts, legal aid clinics, and career placements. External Engagement Build strong collaborations with law firms, judiciary, bar associations, NGOs, and government bodies. Represent the Law School in national/international academic and legal forums. Innovation & Research Champion research initiatives and legal innovation projects. Guide the establishment of centers of excellence in emerging legal fields (e.g., Cyber Law, IPR, Environmental Law). Qualifications & Experience: Ph.D. in Law or equivalent from a reputed university. Minimum 15 years of academic/administrative experience in a reputed law institution, including leadership roles. Thorough understanding of BCI, UGC, and NAAC regulations. Strong academic record with research publications in reputed journals.
