Job Title: Deputy Manager - Procurement Department: Procurement & Supply Chain Location: Kolkata Job Summary: We are looking for an experienced Deputy Manager - Procurement to oversee and manage the procurement of raw materials, specifically imports. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, strategic sourcing expertise, and experience in international procurement. The role requires effective coordination with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and logistics teams to ensure cost-effective and timely procurement of raw materials. Key Responsibilities: Manage the end-to-end procurement process for raw materials (imported) ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely availability. Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize costs while maintaining quality standards. Conduct market research and supplier analysis to identify potential vendors and assess their capabilities. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to secure favorable agreements. Monitor and evaluate supplier performance based on delivery timelines, cost efficiency, and compliance with quality standards. Analyze procurement data and trends to provide insights for decision-making and cost-saving initiatives. Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, customs requirements, and company policies. Coordinate with internal teams such as production, logistics, and finance for seamless procurement operations. Maintain accurate procurement records, reports, and documentation for audits and internal reviews. Required Skills & Competencies: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for cost optimization. Proficiency in data analysis tools and procurement software. Good understanding of international trade, import regulations, and supplier management. Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to multitask and manage multiple procurement projects effectively. Knowledge of SAP systems and procurement processes. Education & Experience: Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (BE/B. Tech) in any discipline. Experience: 5 to 7 years of experience in procurement, with a focus on raw material imports. Preferred Qualifications: Certification in Supply Chain Management / Procurement (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) is a plus.
