Job Description

Designation Design Engineer (Preferrable Manufacturing Industry) Technical Skill Set: - 1. BE/BTech Engineering / Mechanical/Production Engineering/Tool 2. 5–6 years of experience in forging or heavy engineering design 3. Hands-on experience in die and tool design for metal forming is preferred 4. Strong understanding of forging processes, metallurgy, and tool design 5. Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.) 6. Knowledge of GD&T, engineering standards, and manufacturing constraints 7. Basic knowledge of FEA tools is an added advantage 8. Knowledge of manufacturing processes and industrial automation is a plus 9. Strong understanding of supply chain operations 10. ERP/MRP systems (SAP/Oracle/Any other ERP.). 11. Knowledge of procurement processes, GST, and import/export documentation 12 . Familiarity with ERP software (SAP, Tally, etc.) 13. Well-versed with Office Tools: MS Office, Microsoft 365, G-Suite, Remote Desktop, Anti-virus management tools, Meeting tools like Teams Meet, Zoom Meet and Google Meet Inter-Personal Skillset: - 1. Should have a Positive mindset 2. Must be an excellent Team player possessing good co-ordination and time management skills 3. Candidate should possess good communication skills, presentation skills, learning attitude, good grasping Power, a strong analytical mind and possess problem-solving skills 5. Should be good in coordination with all stakeholders. Job responsibilities of the role: - 1. Component and Tool Design Design forged components based on customer specifications, standards, and mechanical requirements. Design closed-die and open-die forging dies, preform shapes, and trimming tools. Optimize component geometry for forgeability, grain flow, and material savings. 2. CAD Modeling & Drafting Create 2D and 3D models using CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA, etc.). Prepare detailed engineering drawings, including tolerances, machining allowances, and surface finishes. Modify existing designs based on feedback from production or customers. 3. Technical Analysis & Validation Perform DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and feasibility studies. Support FEA/simulation analysis for stress, deformation, and die life predictions (if applicable). Evaluate material flow, flash formation, and tool wear patterns. 4. Process Planning Support Coordinate with process engineers to define forging sequences, preform designs, and press requirements. Develop Bill of Materials (BOM) and technical documents for production. Participate in new product development (NPD) and prototype forging trials. 5. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work with production, tool room, and quality control teams to resolve design-related issues. Interact with customers for understanding requirements and clarifying design inputs. Provide support during tool manufacturing, inspection, and trial runs. 6. Documentation & Compliance Maintain design records, revision histories, and design approval documentation. Ensure all designs comply with industry standards (ASME, ISO, etc.) and customer specs.
