Design Engineer Electrical & Instrumentation (Power Control Room)

Job Description

We are specifically looking for candidates with direct experience in Transformers or Switchgear, with a minimum of five years in the field. Preferred candidates should come from companies such as: ABB, Siemens, Schneider Electric, AVEVA, ETAP, PLANON, Rockwell Automation, Honeywell, Johnson Controls, GE, Hitachi, El Sewedy Electric, and Alfanar. Design Engineer Electrical & Instrumentation (Power Control Room) Location : Chennai India Level : Design Engineer Experience : 5 yrs Job Description: Technical activities related to Electrical Design, Engineering of HV/MV/LV PCR (Power control Room/Substation/E-House) by using various software, including but not limited to the following: To yield a safe, quality & cost-effective design/product in a timely manner as per clients requirements. To study and comply with required standards & specifications, etc. To perform and prepare HV/MV/LV Substation Electrical & Instrumentation design calculations including Lighting, Grounding, Shielding, Battery & Battery charger sizing. Station service transformer sizing & relevant drawings/documents. Prepare Electrical layout drawings (General Equipment Arrangement, lighting, shielding, cable routing, etc.) Perform interfacing, design review and validation of PSA, DCS, Fire Alarm, Communication, Data and Telephone System. Prepare Bill of Material, Documents and Drawings, etc. Select and evaluate related to Material & Components, e.g. lighting fixtures, Panel boards, HV/MV/LV cables, MCTs, grounding busbars, shielding mast, surge arrest, etc. Perform technical evaluation for the quotations of electrical equipment / materials and placing the purchase orders. Provide technical support and product cost sheets to the Sales Engineer. Work Experience: Direct work experience of minimum 5 years in the field of Electrical & Instrumentation Design/Engineering of HV/MV/LV Substation for the utility or Oil & Gas Industry (e.g. National Grid / Saudi Electricity Company, Saudi Aramco, Sabic, Royal Commission similar, etc.) Power System Protection & Control by using various Design/Engineering Software, i-eDilux, ETAP, Multigrid etc. and AutoCAD / MicroStation, etc. Required Skillset: Technical knowledge / expertise related to Electrical Design/Engineering of HV/MV/LV Substations, Strong skills in Design application software & AutoCAD / MicroStation, Proficient in English language. Strong knowledge of requirements of various equipment / systems in the Substation, like HVAC, Fire Alarm, Fire Fighting, etc.; and good knowledge of International Technical Standards (ANSI/IEC/UU/ASTM/NEMA/DIN/NFPA/SASO, etc.) Conversant with ISO/QMS/EMS functions and documentation.
