The incumbent of this role would be responsible to lead and manage all aspects of Primary Engineering Design for substation and transmission projects, ensuring technical excellence, regulatory compliance, and alignment with client and project requirements. Role & responsibilities Lead the primary engineering design for high-voltage (HV) and extra-high voltage (EHV) substations (e.g., 132kV, 220kV, 400kV, 765kV). Prepare and review layouts, general arrangement (GA) drawings, equipment sizing, grounding and earthing, and cable routing. Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams including protection, civil, and project management teams to ensure design integration. Review client technical specifications and ensure alignment with applicable standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE, IS). Support procurement by preparing technical specifications for equipment and participating in technical bid evaluations. Liaise with clients, vendors, and stakeholders for design approvals and issue resolution. Maintaining a strong understanding of relevant standards, regulations and industry best practices. Preferred candidate profile Bachelors degree in electrical engineering or relevant field. Master’s degree will be preferred. Minimum 9-12 Years of experience in substation design with strong understanding of primary equipment design – circuit breakers, transformers, isolators, CTs, PTs, surge arrestors.
