Job Title: Design Engineer – Steel & Reefer Containers Location: Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu Experience: 5+ years Industry: Container Manufacturing / Heavy Engineering / Structural Design Employment Type: Full-time Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Design Engineer with a strong background in Steel Structure Design and Reefer Container Design . The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in structural design, material selection, thermal insulation systems, and industry-specific standards. The role is based in Coimbatore and requires close coordination with cross-functional teams including production, procurement, and quality. Key Responsibilities: Lead the design and development of steel containers and refrigerated (reefer) containers , ensuring structural integrity and compliance with global standards (e.g., ISO, CSC, DNV). Prepare detailed 2D/3D CAD models , drawings, and bill of materials (BOM) for fabrication. Conduct FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and other structural calculations for strength, stability, and durability. Develop insulation and refrigeration integration layouts for reefer containers. Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize designs for cost-effective production and ease of assembly. Evaluate and select appropriate materials for structural and thermal requirements. Ensure adherence to container design codes and standards. Review and approve engineering change requests and support product lifecycle management. Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for components and materials related to container construction. Key Requirements: Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field. Minimum 5 years of experience in container design , specifically in steel and reefer containers . Proficient in design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, or CREO . Strong understanding of structural design principles , thermal insulation systems , and refrigeration unit integration . Familiarity with international standards like ISO 1496, CSC, ASME, or DNV. Good communication and project coordination skills. Based in or willing to relocate to Coimbatore . Preferred: Experience in container fabrication or working with OEMs/large container manufacturers. Exposure to cost estimation and project documentation. Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month Schedule: Day shift Fixed shift Morning shift Work Location: In person
