Job Description

Role & responsibilities Produces manufacturing equipment and tooling designs that are feasible and economical to produce. Planning and executing mechanical designs using CAD, CAM, and 3D CAD programs (SolidWorks, inventor) Performing computer simulations and experiments to virtually test and refine the designs. Using CAD or AutoCAD to analyze the existing tooling, equipment designs and improve on them. Provides alternative design solutions, analysis, justification, and recommendations at the concept stage. Analyzes engineering sketches, specifications and related data and drawings to determine design factors such as size, shape, and arrangement of parts. Sketches rough layouts and computes angles, weights, surface areas, dimensions, clearances, tolerances, and location of holes, etc. Reviews manufacturing equipment and tooling design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards and customer contract requirements, and related specifications. Provides support and contributes to manufacturing performance and customer service by assisting in the solution of production or quality problems associated with design. Ensures equipment and tooling designs meet HHG requirements. Prepares interim and completion project reports. Perform other duties as assigned.
