Job Description

Designing New Fasteners: Developing innovative fastener designs for various applications, considering factors like strength, durability, and ease of assembly. Optimizing Existing Designs: Improving the efficiency, performance, and cost-effectiveness of existing fastener designs. Tool Design: Creating and developing tools, dies, and fixtures used in the manufacturing process, ensuring high-quality and efficient production. Collaborating with Manufacturing: Working closely with production teams to address design issues, improve tooling, and enhance overall productivity. CAD Software Proficiency: Using CAD software (like SolidWorks or AutoCAD) to create 3D models and technical drawings of fasteners and tools. Material Selection: Selecting appropriate materials for fastener and tooling production based on strength, durability, and cost. Documentation: Creating detailed technical documentation, including assembly instructions, drawings, and schematics. Testing and Validation: Conducting tests and prototypes to validate design performance and ensure it meets specifications. Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: Identifying and resolving design issues that arise during testing or production. Staying Updated: Keeping abreast of industry trends, new materials, and advancements in fastener design and manufacturing. Types of Design Roles: Product Design Engineer: Focuses on developing and improving the actual fastener products, considering factors like performance, cost, and ease of use. Tool Design Engineer: Specializes in the design and development of tools, dies, and fixtures used in the manufacturing of fasteners.
