DevOps Engg Migration Specialist

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled DevOpsEngineer Migration Specialist to lead large-scale batch processing andapplication migrations within AppBank at Goldman Sachs. The ideal candidatewill undergo a one-month intensive training program to become a MigrationSubject Matter Expert (SME) and will then be assigned to a migration stream. This role requires expertise in softwaredevelopment (Java, Python, or equivalent), Autosys batch scheduling, CI/CDdeployment, troubleshooting, and environment setup. The Migration Specialistwill work closely with functional SMEs, developers, QA teams, andinfrastructure engineers to ensure successful migration planning, execution,and validation. The role demands a strong analyticalmindset, strong verbal and written communication skills, stakeholdermanagement, and the ability to effectively collaborate within a team and workunder pressure in a high-stakes production environment. Key Responsibilities: Complete intensive one-monthtraining to become a Migration SME. Collaborate with functionalSMEs to plan, coordinate, and execute migrations. Set up lower environments basedon technical specifications. Deploy software using CI/CDtools and ensure smooth software rollouts. Execute User Acceptance Testing(UAT) and parallel production tests, analyze results, and troubleshootdiscrepancies. Debug build failures,deployment issues, and testing failures during migration. Follow change management andrisk-mitigation procedures to ensure compliance. Manage and configure Autosysinstances and Procmon (Goldman Sachs product) for migration activities. Optimize batch processingworkflows to improve efficiency. Troubleshoot job failures andenhance automation for streamlined processing. Develop detailed migrationplans, including risk assessment and rollback strategies. Conduct pre-mortem calls toreview migration plans and mitigate potential risks. Execute migrations in astructured and controlled manner with minimal downtime. Perform post-migrationvalidation with AppBank support teams to ensure system stability. Build custom utilities andautomation tools to streamline migration processes. Improve migration efficiency bydeveloping custom scripts and automation frameworks. Communicate migrationtimelines, risks, and status updates to key stakeholders. Document migration proceduresand provide knowledge transfer to relevant teams.
