Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director Privacy to lead and oversee our organizations data protection strategy and compliance initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of global privacy regulations, including GDPR, IndiaDPDP Act, CCPA, and other frameworks, and bring proven experience in implementing privacy programs across a fast-paced, data-driven environment. Responsibilities: Lead the development, execution, and maintenance of the organizationglobal privacy and data protection strategy. Monitor regulatory developments and ensure compliance with privacy laws such as GDPR, DPDP, CCPA, and other applicable frameworks. Design and implement policies, procedures, and frameworks related to data protection, privacy impact assessments, and data subject rights. Serve as the primary point of contact for data protection authorities and internal stakeholders regarding privacy matters. Oversee incident response planning and management for data breaches or privacy violations. Provide expert guidance to business units, legal, and IT teams on privacy risks and controls. Conduct training and awareness programs to foster a culture of data protection across the organization. Lead audits, risk assessments, and gap analyses to evaluate compliance maturity and drive continuous improvement. Collaborate with product, engineering, and security teams to embed privacy by design and default into all operations and technologies. Requirements Minimum 8 years in privacy, data protection, legal compliance, or a related field, preferably in a leadership role. CIPP/E, CIPP/US (Certified Information Privacy Professional Europe/US) CIPM (Certified Information Privacy Manager) CIPT (Certified Information Privacy Technologist) ISO/IEC 27701 Lead Implementer or equivalent (preferred) Strong understanding of global privacy regulations and frameworks. Proven ability to build and lead privacy governance frameworks and cross-functional teams. Experience in conducting DPIAs, vendor risk assessments, and managing DSAR processes.
