Job Title: Director Office of Student Affairs Location: Bengaluru North, Karnataka, India Employment Type: Full-Time | Senior Management About the Role: This pivotal leadership position within a well-regarded academic institution demands a highly experienced and dedicated individual to lead and shape the Office of Student Affairs. The Director will be instrumental in fostering a vibrant, supportive, and inclusive campus environment that enhances the overall student experience and contributes to their holistic development. The role requires strategic vision, exceptional leadership capabilities, and a deep understanding of student needs and the complexities of student life within a dynamic higher education setting. The Director will oversee a range of critical student services and programs, ensuring their effectiveness and alignment with the institutions mission and values. Key Responsibilities: Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Office of Student Affairs, aligning its goals and initiatives with the institution’s overall strategy. Oversee the development, implementation, and assessment of comprehensive student support services, programs, and activities that promote well-being, engagement, and success. Foster a positive and inclusive campus culture that embraces diversity, equity, and belonging. Manage student conduct and disciplinary processes, ensuring consistency, fairness, and compliance with institutional policies. Lead and mentor a team of student affairs professionals, supporting their development and ensuring quality service delivery. Collaborate effectively with academic departments, administrative units, and student organizations to create a cohesive support ecosystem. Develop and manage the student affairs budget, ensuring responsible resource allocation. Serve as a key contact and advocate for students, addressing concerns and facilitating solutions. Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and institutional policies related to student affairs. Oversee student clubs, organizations, and leadership programs, promoting co-curricular engagement. Manage student counseling, health, and wellness services, ensuring holistic student support. Develop and execute orientation and transition programs for new students. Supervise residential life programs (if applicable), enhancing the campus living experience. Oversee career services and student placement support, aiding students’ transition to professional life. Address and resolve student grievances through transparent and effective mechanisms. Promote campus safety and student security. Represent the institution in relevant forums and engage with external stakeholders and networks. Leverage data, metrics, and feedback to inform policy and continuously improve services. Key Qualifications and Experience: Master’s degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education Administration, Counseling, or a closely related field is essential. A Ph.D. or Ed.D. is highly preferred. Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in student affairs or related roles, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership position within recognized universities or autonomous colleges. Proven ability to develop, lead, and evaluate student-focused programs that support academic and personal growth. In-depth understanding of student development theories, best practices in higher education, and student engagement models. Strong knowledge of student conduct regulations, grievance redressal systems, and UGC/AICTE/NAAC guidelines. Demonstrated success in team leadership, interdepartmental collaboration, and resource management. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to connect with a diverse student body and institutional stakeholders. Analytical thinking and data-driven decision-making skills for program evaluation and strategic planning. Deep commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Familiarity with student information systems and digital engagement tools. Desirable: experience in student counseling, career development services, or residential life management.
