Essential Duties and Responsibilities:The Lead Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the design, development and implementation of control systems, electrical components and mechanical designs while leading a team of engineers. This role requires technical expertise, strong leadership skills and the ability to manage projects efficiently to ensure high-quality outcomes.Key ResponsibilitiesControl & Electrical System Design:• Design, develop and integrate control systems for machinery and automation.• Specify and select electrical components (motors, drives, PLCs, sensors, relays, etc.).• Develop wiring diagrams, circuit layouts and control panel schematics.• Ensure compliance with electrical and safety standards.• Troubleshoot and optimize control systems for efficiency and reliability.Mechanical Design:• Lead the design team and development of mechanical systems and structures.• Use Solidwork software to create 2D/3D models and detailed drawings.• Perform engineering calculations for strength, load and thermal analysis.• Select materials and components for mechanical assemblies.• Ensure manufacturability, assembly feasibility and maintenance accessibility.Team Leadership & Management:• Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure project milestones are met.• Conduct regular team meetings to discuss project updates, challenges and solutions.• Provide training and guidance to enhance team skills and performance.• Foster a collaborative and problem-solving culture within the team.System Integration & Testing:• Coordinate electrical and mechanical designs for seamless system integration.• Perform prototype testing, validation and troubleshooting.• Work closely with production and quality teams to resolve design issues.• Optimize designs for cost, reliability and ease of maintenance.Project Management & Coordination:• Plan, schedule and execute engineering projects effectively.• Collaborate with R&D, Production, Quality, Procurement.• Monitor project budgets, resources and timelines to ensure efficiency.• Prepare and present reports to management on project progress and challenges.• Identify areas for improvement in electrical and mechanical design processes.• Research and implement new technologies for better performance and efficiency.Requirements/Skills and Abilities:• Bachelors/Master’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, Mechanical or Control Engineering.• Minimum 10 + years of experience in control systems, electricals and mechanical design.• Proven experience in leading and managing an engineering team.• Knowledge of design in SolidWorks.• Experience with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and industrial automation systems.• Knowledge of electrical codes, wiring standards and safety regulations.• Hands-on experience in designing and troubleshooting control panels and circuits.• Understanding of mechanical design principles and material selection.• Strong leadership and team management abilities.• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.• Effective communication and collaboration skills.• Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
