Electrical Design Engineer

Job Description

1. Project Planning and Scheduling Develop detailed project schedules using tools like MS Project and AutoCAD are MUST to Coordinate with electrical engineers to align planning with technical requirements. 2. Resource Management Estimate manpower, materials, tools, and equipment needed for project execution. Monitor and manage resource allocation based on project timelines. 3. Monitoring and Progress Tracking Track project progress against baseline schedules. Prepare and update progress reports, dashboards, and lookahead plans. Identify delays and implement corrective actions. 4. Technical Coordination Liaise with electrical engineers and contractors to understand design and implementation requirements. Ensure compliance with electrical design standards and safety regulations. 5. Design and Documentation Create or revise electrical layouts, single-line diagrams (SLDs), and wiring diagrams using AutoCAD. Prepare project documentation such as BOMs, technical specifications, and quality control plans. 6. Renewable Energy Project Support (Solar) Use PVsyst to design, simulate, and optimize solar PV systems. Analyze system performance, shading analysis, and energy yield reports. Assist in preparing feasibility studies and project proposals for solar installations. 7. Risk Management Identify project risks related to design, procurement, or execution. Propose mitigation strategies and track risk resolution. 8. Cost Control and Budgeting Assist in cost estimation and budget preparation. Track expenditures and support financial reporting. 9. Client and Stakeholder Communication Report regularly to clients and stakeholders on schedule, progress, and risks. Support in meetings, presentations, and documentation. Technical Knowledge Required Electrical Engineering: Electrical circuit design and analysis Power distribution systems Load calculation and panel board schedules Protection systems and earthing/grounding Electrical codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEC) Renewable energy systems, especially solar PV Software Proficiency: AutoCAD: Drafting electrical schematics, layout plans, SLDs PVsyst: Solar system simulation, performance analysis, shading evaluation Primavera P6 / MS Project: Project planning, scheduling, and tracking MS Excel/Word/PowerPoint: Reporting and documentation Analytical thinking and problem-solving Effective communication and teamwork Attention to detail and accuracy Time management and multitasking Adaptability to project changes and challengesRole & responsibilities Preferred candidate profile
