The incumbent will provide technology leadership on medium to large scale products/platform with internal and direct customer impact. Ensure implementation of product engineering best practices in his/her product/ platform teams. Incumbent will also be responsible for technical architecture of product/platform working closely with cross-functional teams within Sony LIV and partner with key stakeholders. Education : BTech / MTech / MCA Reporting Relationship : Head Android/iOS Engineering, Digital Business Business/Channel/Function : Digital Key Responsibilities : Building individual features and products, bring in best practices and patterns that can be used for engineering lifecycle for Android discipline Take ownership of end-to-end product quality Developing & maintaining core app frameworks that help make the apps more reliable and delightful Create prototypes of new ideas Explore new technologies on the forefront of mobile & technology Reducing the Crashes, ANR and providing stable experience across the platform New ideas and features exploration which can help Sony LIV to grow as a business Critical Competencies: Behavioural: Should be a good team player & able to work independently under pressure. Technical: Sound understanding of Android Architecture, Framework, Android SDK, Core Java, Kotlin, Android Studio IDE, Android Debugger Should have excellent programming/coding and logical skills. Experience with OTT tech stack is good to have. Hands-on experience in building mobile/TV applications and creating solutions - native applications Should be able to do technical and architecture planning for the development with various stack holders and vendors. Expert in UI components & controls; Action Bars, Widgets, Fragments, Leanback, Animations and Material design. Expert in basic components of Android: Activity, Services, Intent, Broadcast Receiver, Content Provider Good working experience on Web Service Integration (REST, JSON, XML) & cloud technologies - AWS, GAE, GCM Sound working experience with ExoPlayer, IMA SDK, SSAI & DAI. Experience in using analytics, location and social APIs, MDM, payment gateway, SMS gateway, media content transcoding and cloud integration, APM tools
