Junior Sourcing _ Electronics 1. Sourcing and Supplier Management: o Assist in identifying potential suppliers for electronic components and products. o Assist Category managers to getting quotes on time o Help establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, ensuring smooth communication and transaction flow. 2. Supplier and Market Research: o Assist in researching new suppliers, technologies, and market trends for electronic components and products. o Support in conducting market analysis to compare suppliers, pricing, and technological advancements. 3. Cross-Functional Collaboration: o Work closely with internal teams, including Sourcing, Purchase, Operations understand the company s needs and align procurement activities. Skills and Qualifications: 1. Education: o A bachelor s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management 2. Experience: o 1-2 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management (preferably in the electronics industry, but not mandatory). o Exposure to sourcing or buying electronic components like semiconductors, resistors, capacitors, or circuit boards is desirable. 3. Skills: o Strong communication and negotiation skills. o Ability to analyse data and perform basic cost analysis. o Familiarity with ERP systems or purchasing tools. o Basic understanding of electronics products and components. o Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. 4. Personal Traits: o Proactive: Ability to take initiative in tasks and manage multiple priorities. o Team player: Comfortable working in a collaborative environment. o Problem-solving: Ability to think critically and help resolve issues related to sourcing activities o Adaptable: Ability to adjust to changes in demand, supply chain disruptions, or changes in market conditions. 5. Technical Understanding: o Basic understanding of the electronics industry and common components. o Familiarity with product lifecycle management and how it relates to procurement. Working Environment: The Junior Electronics Buyer typically works in an office environment and may occasionally be required to visit suppliers, attend trade shows, or collaborate with production teams. The role is largely desk-based, but may require coordination across different time zones, especially if dealing with international suppliers. This role is ideal for someone who is looking to start their career in electronics procurement, with room for growth into more senior buyer or sourcing roles as they gain experience and industry knowledge. The role is entry-level but requires the ability to learn quickly, collaborate across teams, and manage sourcing activities efficiently.
