Work Location: Kanha Shanti Vanam, Hyderabad https://g.co/kgs/4EiMgu Position Overview Educator/Trainer to coordinate up to 15 pottery workshops per week for visitors, residents, and corporates; train and supervise open studio staff volunteers; develop projects and schedules with Experiential Learning Coordinator inspires teamwork. Key Responsibilities: Studio Facilitation: Lead open studio sessions, providing guidance, demonstrations, and feedback to participants of all skill levels, from beginners to advanced pottery artists. Experiential Learning: Promote a learner-centered approach, encouraging students to explore techniques, tools, and materials through experimentation and self-guided practice. Support critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving. Skill Development: Teach fundamental pottery skills including wheel throwing, hand-building, glazing, trimming, and surface decoration. Offer advanced techniques for more experienced students when needed. Safety Studio Maintenance: Ensure that all participants follow safety guidelines. Maintain studio cleanliness and equipment, and monitor the proper use of tools and materials. Individualized Support: Provide one-on-one guidance tailored to the unique needs and interests of each student. Encourage students to explore their personal style and creative direction. Curriculum Flexibility: Adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of various learners, allowing for a flexible, non-traditional curriculum. Integrate themes of sustainability, mindfulness, or other relevant topics if aligned with the studio s mission. Workshops Special Projects: Collaborate with the studio manager to organize specialized workshops or projects that align with the studio s mission and the community s interests. Student Assessment: Provide constructive feedback to students in a way that encourages growth and confidence, without formal grading structures. Qualifications: Proven experience in pottery, ceramics, or a related field, with a portfolio showcasing a range of work. Experience teaching or facilitating creative workshops, especially in an open studio or experiential learning environment. Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and motivate students. Knowledge of ceramic materials, glazing techniques, kiln firing processes, and studio equipment maintenance. Ability to create a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere for participants of diverse backgrounds and abilities. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to maintain a clean and safe studio space. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor s degree in fine arts, ceramics, art education, or a related field. Experience in experiential learning frameworks, particularly in creative or artistic settings. CPR and First Aid certified (or willing to become certified). Familiarity with sustainable practices in pottery and studio management.
