Export Import Specialist

Job Description

Key Responsibilities: Document Preparation and Review: Preparing and reviewing shipping documents such as commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin. Customs Compliance: Ensuring adherence to import and export laws and regulations, including managing customs clearance procedures and staying updated on changes in regulations. Logistics Coordination: Coordinating with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and other parties to arrange transportation, track shipments, and resolve any issues or delays. Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of import and export transactions, including invoices, shipping documents, and customs declarations. Communication and Collaboration: Effectively communicating with internal departments (e.g., logistics, sales, purchasing, finance) and external stakeholders (e.g., suppliers, customs authorities, freight forwarders). Problem Solving: Identifying and resolving issues related to import/export operations, such as delays, documentation errors, or customs-related challenges. Qualifications: Diploma in Export-Import Management/ Post Graduate Diploma in Export and Import Management / Certificate Program in Export Import Management (CEI) Skills: Knowledge of International Trade Regulations: Understanding import/export laws, customs procedures, and trade agreements. Logistics and Supply Chain Management: Familiarity with logistics operations, transportation modes, and supply chain processes. Documentation and Record-Keeping: Ability to prepare and manage shipping documents, customs declarations, and other relevant records. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting.. In addition to the above, an Import/Export Specialist may: Negotiate shipping rates and contracts with freight forwarders. Manage relationships with customs brokers and other service providers. Analyze data and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement. Participate in training and development programs to stay updated on industry trends and regulations.
