Fire & Safety Officer

Job Description

Conduct inspections, testing, and maintenance of all fire prevention and protection systems in the complex. Implement proper documentation and record management practices for fire safety compliance. Compile data and generate comprehensive reports regarding fire incidents and safety audits. Conduct training programs for contract personnel on fire safety protocols and emergency response. Educate fire personnel on the hazards and properties of various chemicals and safe handling measures. Evaluate design and drawings related to firefighting installations to ensure compliance with safety standards. Participate in mock drills to enhance emergency preparedness and response. Maintain safety standards and regulations to achieve zero-accident goals within the mall. Review retailers' fit-out drawings and provide feedback to ensure compliance with fire safety standards. Utilize AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and email for effective documentation and communication. Oversee the installation, maintenance, and functionality of fire sprinkler, fire hydrant, and fire alarm systems. Train fire marshals to ensure they follow all rules and regulations and perform their duties effectively. Conduct regular fire drills, evacuation drills, and fire audits for all retailers and offices. Continuously improve fire safety processes, technologies, and equipment upgrades. Monitor the functionality and pressure of fire sprinkler and hydrant systems regularly. Ensure fire hose boxes, exits, single-headed hydrant valves, and extinguishers are properly placed and maintained. Actively participate in electrical inspections and fit-out works to ensure compliance with safety standards. Manage height work permits, and hot work permits to maintain safety during potentially hazardous activities. Conduct sprinkler line shutdown activities and operate isolation valves, as necessary. Implement fire and safety arrangements in accordance with established standards and best practices Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal fire safety regulations and codes. Stay updated on changes in fire safety laws and standards to maintain compliance. Qualifications Diploma / Degree in Fire Safety, EHS or a related field. 3-5 years of experience in fire safety management, preferably in a retail or mall environment. Relevant certifications in fire safety (e.g., CPR, First Aid). Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications. Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
