Job Title: Fitter Industry: Commercial Heat Treatment & Industrial Furnace Manufacturing Location: Thiruvallur Employment Type: Under Lead HR Payroll Job Summary: The Fitter will be responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining mechanical components of heat treatment equipment and industrial furnaces. The role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, blueprint reading, and hands-on fabrication skills. Key Responsibilities: Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications. Assemble, fit, and install mechanical components of heat treatment furnaces and associated equipment. Conduct cutting, grinding, drilling, and welding as required for fabrication. Perform alignment and fitting of machine parts, structures, and piping. Inspect and test assembled units to ensure functionality and adherence to quality standards. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues in furnaces, burners, and conveyor systems. Work with other team members, including welders and electricians, to ensure smooth assembly and installation. Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean work environment. Perform preventive maintenance on heat treatment and furnace systems. Required Skills & Qualifications: ITI / Diploma in Fitter, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. 2+ years of experience in mechanical fitting, preferably in heat treatment or furnace manufacturing. Strong ability to read and understand technical drawings and schematics. Hands-on experience with tools such as grinders, drills, welding equipment, and measurement instruments. Knowledge of heat treatment processes and furnace operations is an advantage. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Physical stamina and dexterity to handle heavy equipment and work in industrial settings. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in gas and electrical furnace installation. Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Welding certification (if applicable).
