Comapny: The Sanctuary Bar & Kitchen Job Title: F&B Controller Location: Anjuna, Goa Department: Finance Reports To: Director of Finance or General Manager Key Responsibilities: Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and analyze financial statements for the food and beverage department. Provide accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cost analysis. Ensure compliance with accounting principles and industry regulations. Identify trends, variances, and potential financial risks or opportunities. Budgeting & Forecasting: Collaborate with the F&B team to create accurate budgets for food, beverage, and labor costs. Regularly review actual financial performance against budget and provide detailed variance analysis. Develop and maintain accurate financial forecasts based on historical data, market trends, and operational requirements. Cost Control & Inventory Management: Monitor and control food and beverage costs through effective inventory management. Analyze purchasing patterns, negotiate with suppliers, and recommend cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality. Oversee the receiving, storage, and usage of goods to ensure accurate tracking and prevent loss or waste. Internal Controls: Implement and enforce financial controls to safeguard assets and prevent fraud. Ensure all cash handling and revenue processes comply with established policies and standards. Conduct periodic audits of inventory, cash flow, and financial operations. Collaboration & Support: Work closely with the F&B Manager and other department heads to optimize operations and profitability. Provide financial training and support to non-financial department managers to help them understand and control their financial performance. Assist with the development of pricing strategies and menu analysis. Compliance & Reporting: Ensure adherence to all local, state, and federal financial regulations. Coordinate with auditors during internal and external audits to ensure accurate and timely reporting. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Hospitality Management, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) are a plus. Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in accounting, finance, or cost control in the food and beverage industry. Experience with financial software systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, QuickBooks, etc.). Strong knowledge of food and beverage operations, including costing, pricing, and inventory management. Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel (advanced skills required) and financial reporting tools. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities. Ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial staff. Knowledge of industry trends, cost control methods, and financial regulations. Key Attributes: Strong business acumen and a results-driven mindset.
