At LAT Aerospace, we’re building a clean-sheet Short Take-off and Landing (STOL) aircraft to transform regional air mobility in India. We’re seeking a Gas Turbine Performance Engineer to work on the thermodynamic modelling, performance prediction, and cycle analysis of our small gas turbine engine used as part of a turbo-generator system. What you’ll doDevelop and maintain gas turbine cycle models (steady-state and transient) for various mission profiles and different hybrid engine architecturesPerform component matching (compressor, turbine, combustor) and validate operating mapsAnalyse engine performance across altitude, throttle, and environmental conditionsInterface with electrical systems to size the turbogenerator and optimize power extractionSupport component trade studies (single vs two-spool, recuperation, intercooling, etc.)Provide key performance metrics: specific fuel consumption, power density, system/subsystem efficiencies, etc.Collaborate with turbomachinery, combustion, and controls engineers for full system definitionContribute to vendor evaluation, hardware testing, and engine-in-the-loop simulation What we're looking forMasters or PhD in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Turbomachinery Engineering.Strong understanding of gas turbine thermodynamics, cycle analysis, and performance modellingExperience with tools like NPSS, Gasturb, GSP, or MATLAB-based custom modelsFamiliarity with compressor/turbine maps, off-design performance, and transient behaviourAbility to generate clear performance documentation, plots, and mission-level summaries Why LAT?Core team opportunity at a high-conviction deep-tech startupReal aircraft, real flying hardware, real impactBuild the future of sustainable aviation in India
