Summary: The Grant Thornton Ireland Tax Team currently encompasses over 320 specialists, with over 70 of those specialising in UK tax, as part of the Northern Irish practice. Our UK Corporation Tax Compliance client base is experiencing exceptional growth across all industries and sectors, both in the local market and on an international scale. We are therefore embarking on an exciting project to establish a team of UK tax advisors in India. This team will be fully integrated into the existing team in Northern Ireland, working together to provide high quality service to our global client base. We are therefore seeking a UK Corporate Tax Manager to join our team in India. As a Manager, you must demonstrate depth of technical knowledge in your own service area and apply this knowledge to develop solutions to complex technical issues together with managing and leading a team in demanding assignments on a day-to-day basis. Responsibilities: Manage portfolio of clients that are sizable in both scope and scale by providing intelligent and creative solutions to client tax issues both reactively and proactively, presenting solutions to increasingly complex technical issues. Perform manager level review on UK corporate tax deliverables. Help lead our Corporation Tax compliance offering to UK corporates including large UK groups as well as UK corporates in multinational groups. Demonstrate a sound understanding of all the specific UK tax issues associated with large corporates including corporate interest restriction, Country-by-Country reporting and SAO. Responsible for Quality Assurance for projects handled by the team. Actively manage financial operations of the team and meet own financial targets set. Consult on a variety of technical areas, including the ability to identify those able to provide support in relation to technical risk. Identify opportunities to provide additional services to new and existing clients. Write, and communicate on, high quality tax deliverables, tailored to specific needs of the client. Sound awareness of, and adherence to, the firm's risk management processes and procedures. Lead, manage, motivate and coach junior team members. Proactively manage own career, seeking out opportunities to work on a variety of assignments to build on existing experience. Skills: Strong technical knowledge in relation to tax issues affecting UK corporates. Critical thinking and analytical skills. Aptitude for learning technology. Strong written and verbal English language communication skills. A process improvement and knowledge-sharing mindset. Capable of working on your own initiative while taking responsibility and ownership for wider team issues. Execute effectively in cross-cultural business settings. Experience working with an outsourcing work stream or in a shared service environment required. Strong proficiency with MS Office suite. Education / Professional Experience/ Qualifications: Minimum of seven years experience working in a UK corporation tax compliance department of large practice. Graduate in B Com / M.Com / BBA / BAFM / BBM / BSc(Stat or Math) or MBA (Finance). UK professional qualification (for example ACA, ACCA or CTA) is preferred but not essential.
