Job Summary: The Civil Head oversees and manages all civil engineering activities, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role involves strategic planning, resource management, stakeholder coordination, and providing technical leadership to the civil engineering team. Key Responsibilities: 1. Strategic Planning and Leadership: Develop and implement strategies for the successful execution of civil engineering projects. Provide leadership and guidance to the civil engineering team to achieve organizational goals. Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies. 2. Project Management: Oversee planning, design, execution, and completion of civil projects. Review project scopes, budgets, and schedules to ensure alignment with objectives. Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions when necessary. Liaise with clients, consultants, and contractors to maintain smooth operations. 3. Technical Expertise: Review and approve engineering designs, drawings, and specifications. Conduct site inspections to ensure quality and adherence to design standards. Address technical challenges and provide solutions during project execution. 4. Resource Management: Allocate resources, including manpower, materials, and equipment, effectively. Manage and mentor the engineering team, fostering professional growth. Coordinate with procurement for timely acquisition of materials and services. 5. Risk Management and Compliance: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies. Ensure projects adhere to safety, environmental, and legal requirements. Conduct regular audits and quality checks. 6. Reporting and Communication: Prepare and present project updates to senior management and stakeholders. Maintain accurate records of project progress, budgets, and timelines. Qualifications: Education: Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering (Masters preferred). Experience: Minimum 20+ years of experience in civil engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Skills: Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, codes, and practices. Proficient in project management tools and software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera). Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively. Key Competencies: Strategic thinking and planning. Technical expertise in structural, geotechnical, and construction engineering.
