Job Description

The Role will be responsible for leading the Electrical and Mechanical Engineering teams, driving innovative design concepts for motors and eDrive systems, and ensuring alignment with business and customer expectations. This role demands expertise in electromagnetic design, mechanical design principles, and motor/controller topologies, combined with the ability to manage a high-performing team of 40 engineers. Oversee and manage the engineering teams workload to ensure efficiency and timely project completion. Collaborate with the marketing team to handle RFQs, provide technical simulations, and align with customer expectations. Manage cost targets and drive designs toward techno-commercial success. Conduct design reviews with customers, present technical solutions, and travel as needed for validation.. Ensure design compliance with established rules and secure necessary approvals before release. Support supplier development by assisting the purchase team with visits and technical guidance. Develop process design guidelines and collaborate with the PE team for implementation. Maintain product quality by managing PPM levels and resolving design and process issues. Lead future product development by conceptualizing innovative designs and technologies. Oversee sample production and prototype development for design validation. Manage internal labs for testing and validation while coordinating with external labs as needed. Identify skill gaps within the engineering team and implement training programs. Requires B.Tech/M.Tech in Electrical Engineering or a related field with 20+ years of experience in electrical, mechanical, or electromechanical design. Hands-on experience with simulation tools like JMAG, Speed, or Motor-CAD. Knowledge of motor, eDrive, and controller design rules, including PMSM and BLDC topologies. Experience in EV component validation, homologation, and certification. Understanding of motor manufacturing processes, supplier development, and process design. Strong techno-commercial acumen to align engineering with business strategies. Ability to lead a 40-member engineering team, drive skill development, and ensure alignment with company goals. Experience in collaborating with global teams Strong interpersonal skills to engage with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
