Job Description

Role - The Industrial Relations (IR) Head will be responsible for fostering positive relationships between management and employees within a multi-unit business environment. Key Responsibilities Developing and implementing industrial relations strategies that align with organisational objectives. Integration and standardization of IR systems and processes. Ensure healthy & cordial industrial climate and effectively managing the internal and external stakeholders. Prepare the Manpower Budget based on the annual forecast for the plants. Provide strategic decision support to the Plant Head to enable achievement of the annual targets for the plant and for successful implementation of various initiatives planned. Ensure that all relevant labour laws & regulations are respected and complied with at the plants. Monitor adherence to all statutory compliances at all the Plants, for blue collared employee and contract employees. Responsible for maintaining industrial peace and harmony in a unionized workforce. Anchoring the collective bargaining process with the workers union (Internal / External) tactfully to ensure smooth wage/bonus settlements. Ensure shop-floor discipline through appropriate disciplinary actions. Monitor and control recruitment of the workers at the Plant to ensure adherence to manpower budgets and zero loss of production. Oversee the working of the Employee Grievance Redressal Mechanism at the plant. Oversee the welfare, canteen management & maintenance cost vs budget, service levels on cost, service, quality. Provide counsel to the Functional Heads on a variety of personnel issues like employee discipline, promotions, terminations etc. to facilitate effective decision making and ensure compliance to all relevant policies, procedures and regulations. Responsible for the PMS, TM, L&D and TA for employee at the plant level. Required Candidate profile: Master’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Labour Law. 15-20 years of proven experience as an Industrial Relations in manufacturing, automotive, or similar industries. Strong knowledge of Indian labour laws, collective bargaining processes, and best practices for employee relations. Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to handle complex employee issues. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence decision-making. Ability to manage relationships with trade unions and employee representatives. Experience in relating with external institutes and government bodies for audit and certifications required at the plant level.
