Job Description Job Title: Head of Curriculum (Foundational Stage) – CBSE Premium School Location: CO (Hyderabad) Department: Academic Reports To: Curriculum Director Employment Type: Full-Time Job Summary The Foundational Stage Head of Curriculum will lead the academic strategy, curriculum design, and implementation for Grades 1-2. The role demands a visionary educator with a deep understanding of global pedagogical practices, including CBSE and IB frameworks, and prior leadership experience as a principal or equivalent in schools. The candidate will be instrumental in driving academic excellence, mentoring educators, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Curriculum Strategy & Development: ● Develop and lead the CBSE curriculum for the Foundational Stage (Grades 1-2) across all schools in the network, ensuring alignment with CBSE guidelines and integration of best international practices. ● Ensure that the curriculum is innovative, forward-looking, and supports the vision of the organization, emphasizing personalized learning for all stakeholders (students, teachers, and parents). Standardization & Consistency: ● Ensure uniformity in curriculum delivery, teaching methodologies, and assessment practices across all schools while allowing for regional adaptations to meet local needs. ● Monitor and support the implementation of curriculum across schools, tracking progress and ensuring the highest standards of academic rigor. Teacher Development & Training: ● Collaborate with the training team to design and execute professional development programs for Foundational school teachers, focusing on innovative teaching strategies, CBSE standards, and international pedagogical approaches. ● Lead initiatives to enhance teacher effectiveness, guiding them on implementing technology and modern teaching methodologies to foster a more personalized and engaging classroom experience. Assessment & Academic Rigor: ● Oversee the preparation and execution of CBSE board exams, ensuring that schools uphold the highest academic standards and that students are well-prepared for examinations. ● Introduce strategies for formative and summative assessments to provide a well-rounded evaluation of student progress. Curriculum Monitoring & Feedback: ● Implement mechanisms to regularly assess and evaluate the effectiveness of curriculum delivery, through classroom observations, student performance data, and feedback from educators and students. ● Use data-driven insights to identify areas for improvement, ensuring continuous curriculum refinement to meet evolving educational needs. Technology Integration & Digital Learning: ● Drive the integration of technology in the curriculum to enhance personalized learning, using digital platforms for student engagement, assessment tracking, and teacher development. ● Leverage technology to track student growth, monitor teacher progress, and provide data-driven insights to parents for better involvement in their child’s academic journey. Curriculum Alignment & Global Best Practices: ● Align the CBSE curriculum with the organization’s vision and values while integrating best practices from global educational frameworks, such as project-based learning, inquiry-based learning, and interdisciplinary teaching. ● Ensure compliance with CBSE regulations and continuously introduce innovative practices to enhance the learning experience. Collaboration with Leadership Teams: ● Work closely with leadership teams across all schools to align curriculum goals with the broader vision and mission of the organization. ● Provide academic leadership and strategic direction to ensure that curriculum goals are met consistently across all regions. Student-Centered Approach: ● Foster a student-centric academic environment that emphasizes inquiry, leadership, and holistic development. ● Ensure that every student receives a personalized learning experience, leveraging technology and innovative teaching methodologies to meet diverse needs. Data-Driven Decision Making: ● Collect and analyze data on student outcomes, teacher performance, and curriculum effectiveness to inform continuous improvement efforts. ● Share regular feedback and reports with senior leadership on curriculum performance, challenges, and areas for growth. Academic System & Infrastructure Development: ● Develop systems and processes that support the academic structure across the schools, ensuring smooth integration of curriculum, assessments, and teacher support. ● Establish academic quality control mechanisms to ensure consistency and high standards across all locations. Qualifications and Skills Education: ● Master’s degree in Education a subject-specific field. ● Certification in CBSE curriculum delivery and leadership (preferred). Experience: ● 10+ years of teaching experience, with at least 5 years in leadership roles such as Principal, Academic Head, or Curriculum Coordinator in schools. ● Proven track record of successfully implementing and managing academic programs at the Foundational level (Early Years). Key Skills and Competencies ● Curriculum Development: Expertise in designing CBSE-aligned Foundational curricula (Grades 1-2) with a focus on innovation and global best practices. ● Strategic Implementation: Proven ability to standardize curriculum delivery and assessment while addressing regional needs. ● Teacher Development: Skilled in creating impactful training programs on modern pedagogy, CBSE standards, and technology integration. ● Assessment Management: Proficiency in developing and overseeing rigorous formative and summative assessments aligned with CBSE guidelines. ● Technology Integration: Experience leveraging digital tools to enhance personalized learning and monitor progress. ● Leadership & Collaboration: Strong ability to align curriculum goals with organizational vision and mentor educators to achieve excellence. ● Student-Centric Focus: Commitment to fostering holistic development and personalized learning experiences for diverse student needs. ● Data-Driven Insights: Expertise in analyzing student and teacher performance data to drive continuous improvement. ● Regulatory Compliance: In-depth knowledge of CBSE guidelines and academic standards. ● Effective Communication: Strong skills in presenting strategies and providing actionable insights to stakeholders.
